Howell (Rotorua) who play off later. In the men’s doubles E- and. P.. Howell beat Tukero and Potaq (Wanganui) 7 —5, S —6, 6 —2. In the Ladies’ singles Miss D. Newton (Waikato) beat Mrs Swan (Gisborne) 6 —l, o—4. In the ladies’ doubles Misses Newton and Rukutai beat Mrs Swan and Miss Te Ua 7 —5, o—3.
