SNOOKER TOURNAMENT

RONGOTEA ODDFELLOWS. A snooker tournament was conducted on Wednesday evening, when there was a good attendance of players present. First round: C. Donovon 6 won from H. Eades 4 (19—13), T. Patton 12 won from W. Giles 10 (15 —14), J. Claasen 7 won from C. Imrie 15 (18 —17), S. Wood 7 won from T. Amadio 4 (36 —19), A. C. Eades scr. won from E. Ellerington 8 (33 —17), 11. Ransom 9 won from H. Boyce scr. (25 —20), H. Carrington 12 won from E. Boyce 10 (22—21). Second round: S. Wood 7 won from A. Trenkncr 14 (38 —20), A. C. Eades scr. won from C. Donovon 6 (41 —33), 11. J. Claasen 7 won from H. Carrington 12 (43 —20). T. Patton 12 won from H. Ransom 9 (24 —19). Third round: A. Eades scr won from H. Carrington 12 (46 —25), T. Patton 12 won from S. Woods 7 (20 —19). | Final: T. Patton won from A. C. Eades (24—12). ! The last round was very interesting both players showing skill. Eades, however, seemed to lose nerve in tho last stages of the game and played erratically, Patton winning by a fair margin. The winners of the tourney annexed the trophies donated by Messrs C. Cioehetto £1 Is and A. Trenkncr 10s 6d. The handicappcrs were Messrs 11. Boyce and A. Eades, both scratch players.
