STUD RAMS MEET GOOD MARKET AT ADDINGTON

225 GUINEAS FOR CORRIEDALE. BEST FAIR IN SOUTH FOE SOME YEARS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The annual ram fair was concluded to-day, when stud rams were sold. The. entry comprised 262 head. Corriedales were the principal sec-* tion, numbering 66 head, Southdowns totalled 42, English Leicesters 41 and Borders 20. Por good Corriedale rams, there was a keen demand. The top price of tha fair was 225 guineas obtained for a Corriedale by Mr. H. T. Little, of Hul Hui, the ram was sold to Mr. G. T. Barker, of Woodgrovo. Average Corriedales brought 20 to 30 guinoas, with a few passings. Only two Merinos wera offered and they failed to find buyers. The entry of English Leicesters met with an excellent sale. Ordinary sorts averaged 20 to 25 guineas, with better up to 50 guineas. Tho top price was 1271 guineas. Border Leicesters met with a moderate demand. The top price was 72 guineas. Values for Southdowns, which sold well, averaged 25 to 40 guineas. The top price at auction was 85 guineas, but a ram passed at auctiou was sold for 100 guineas. A total of 285 ewes were offered and met with a Toady sale in tho Corriedale and Southdown sections. Prices ranged up to 4 guineas for Corriedaleßj 6£ guineas for Southdowns, 41 for Lincolns and 4J for Merinos. Tho ram fair was the best for a number of years, values boing better and passings fewer than for a long time.
