DAIRY FARMERS’ UNION
MANAWATTT BRANCH MEETS. Mr. J. P. Smalt presided over the regular monthly meeting of the Manavatu branch of the Dairy Farmers’ Union which was held yesterday. Also present were Messrs M. Richardson, L. A. Poupard. J. Boyce, F. J. Lcgg, G. L. Wag-staff, W. P. Bickers, J. H. Mason and 11. Dewar. Mr. F. J. Legg reported on the tcce.nt visit of Messrs J. Lyons an'd Barry of the Livestock division of the Department of Agriculture who had investigated vaginitis troubles in the Rangiotu district. Their findings had been along thclines alrondy recorded in the “Times”. A letter was received from Mr. D. .Murray of Woodville stating that a number of dairy farmers in his district had been inquiring whether it would be possible to arrange for_ one of the officers who had been investigating vaginitis troubles in the Rangiotu district to visit Woodville and give a demonstration to farmers. It was decided to endeavour to arrange a visit to Woodville as suggested. After a brief discussion, it was decided to write to Mr. E. Bruce Levy of the Plant Research station with a view of arranging for a farmers’ -field day at the experimental plot.
