STANWAY

General. Owing to unforseen circumstances the cribbagc tourney arranged to take place at Standay on Thursday evening between the Halcombe and Stanway clubs did not eventuate. It is expected ,however, that the event will take place at a later date. As Jack Parsons and his little sister Gwen, were riding home, double-bank, from school on Monday afternoon, their horse getting out of control threw them heavily to the ground. _ The incident occurred in the vicinity of the school and Mrs. Howell was promptly upon the scene. Finding the children in a somewhat dazed condition and unable to give a coherent account of the happening, she took them to a neighbouring farmhouse, from which, after a while, they were able to proceed upon their homeward way. Beyond receiving a severe shaking, scratches and bruises, the children were fortunately 1 uninjured.
