WEST AUSTRALIA LOSES FIVE WICKETS FOR 269 TIRED FIELDSMEN. United Press Association — By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Friday, 2 a.m. PERTH, March 21. The last engagement of the English cricketers started to-day in ideal weather with a match against West Australia, whose team included Ryder, Australia’s Test captain, Grimmett, Darling and Ellis, of the Eastern States, who were invited to play against England, as IVestralia has only a baTo eleven available. The attendance was 5000. IVestralia won the toss. The Englishmen showed the effects of tl#o tour and the long journey. They wero evidently tired and the fielding was not brilliant, with the exception of the display of Duckworth behind the wickets. Ryder lasted 52 minutes for 24 when he was given out leg before. Richardson, one of Australia’s leading players, who is now coaching the We* tralian players, batted most of the afternoon with the local captain, Rowe.
