FEILDING TECHNICAL SCHOOL

NOT A DEAD LETTER. There is a belief in some quarters that the Fcilding Technical School is a dead letter, but it would appear from the report tabled at a meeting of the Board of Managers that such is not the case. Of the 45 new pupils enrolled at the commencement of the year 37 were freo place holders. Details of the different classes and the respective roll numbers arc as follow: —Two dressmaking classes, IS and 16 pupils of whom 12 are free place; two shorthand and typing classes, nine and 11 (10 free place); book-keeping 20 (17 free place); woodwork 16 (eight free place); English and arithmetic 17 (16 free place). Total roll 107. The chairman of tho board (Mr. H. Tolley) considered it was a most satisfactory report.
