R.A.F. CAPE-CAIRO PLIGHT. SMASH IN RHODESIA British Official Wireless. RUGBY, March 18. One of the four Fairy Napier Royal Air Force aeroplanes on the return return flight to Cairo from Capetown crashed to-day after leaving Gwelo, Southern Rhodesia. Sergeant Turner was killed on the spot, while FlyingOfficer Burnett died from his injuries soon after admission to hospital. Tho four ’planes under the command of Squadron-Leader Cox left Cairo on February 32 and reached Capetown last Thursday week, thus completing the first half of their 9000 mile flight iu scheduled lime. They were being accompanied back to Nairobi and Khartoum by four machines of the South African Air Force.
