A severe explosion, followed by a fire, occurred in an unoccupied twostorey brick building, known as Bardsley’s garage at Vaucluse last night. It wrecked the main entrance, shattered doors and windows and caused cracks in the walls. Firemen subdued tho flames. They found traces of petrol or kerosene in every room, suggesting incendiarism. Tho police have arrested David Moyos, aged 32, a mechanic, on a charge of arson in connection with tho explosion. At Fremantle, Barton’s drapery store was burned in the central part of tho city. Tho damage is estimated at £15,000.
