OFFICERS APPOINTED TO SAMOAN SERVICE

TREASURER AND AUDITOR. * Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Prior to his departure for the South to-day, the Prime Minister announced the appointment of Mr. P. G. Pearce, inspector of tho Public Service Commissioner’s office, as Treasurer to the Samoan Administration. Mr. Pearce will hold this position for such period as may be required to reorganise the accounts. As internal auditor in Western Samoa, Mr. H. Gapes, of the Wellington Audit office, has been appointed. Both officers have had long-experi-ence in the New Zealand public service and are members of the New Zealand Society of Accountants.
