There were stormy scenes at the conclusion of a football match when the Wiltshire Regiment defeated a China eleven at Lohwa. The mob attacked the referee land the players with bamboos, mud and stones. Several shots were fired, but no one was hit. Several British players who were assaulted were injured. The Chinese players took no part in the trouble. '"The personnel of the Chinese team was almost the same as that which toured Australia. Tho incident is typical of games in which Chinese teams arc beaten hy foreign players.
