DEMPSTER’S RECORD
("1 S. DEMPSTER completed a new- record in club cricket recently •in Wellington, when he completed 1,000 runs for the season, scoring 173 in the InstituteOld Boys’ match. He previously held In creating the ■ record with 976 runs, the new record Dempster is living up to the form he C. S. Dempster showed last summer, and is proving himself to be the best batsman in Wellington, if not in the Dominion. Dempster’s performance last Saturday was an excellent one, as the bowling he was called upon to face was as good as anything to be found in Wellington club cricket, F. T. Badcock, who leads Old Boys’ attack this year, was in great form with , the ball, bowling 49 overs, and the fact that only 119 runs were hit off him indicates that he was up to form, though Dempster and Foley did get for 137 and 61 respectively.
