LOAN OFFER DECLINED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Mar. 9. From recent utterances, the Premier has given the impression that ho intends to go on the local market for a loan of £2,000,000. In reply to a question to-day, Sir Joseph Ward said that he had Teccivfcd an offer of £2,000,000, not from any source in New Zealand, but from abroad, and had declined it. The Government at tho present time was not on the money market, and tho amount of £2,000,0000 he had referred to previously had not been raised.
