MORBID DEPRESSION RESULTS IN SUICIDE
“PROWLERS ROUND HOUSE."* SUFFERED ACUTELY FROM WAS WOUNDS. Per Press Association.CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night, Suicide while in a depressed state of mind, was the verdict of tho Coroner, Mr. Lawry, S.M., at the inquest into the death of Peter Hunt, who was found dead in his house at Now Brighton last night. There was a gas tube in Hunt’s mouth, a blanket over his head, and all windows and doors in the housa were tightly closed. Evidence was given by friends of Hunt to the effect that ho suffered acutely from war injuries, especially in cold and damp weather. He had always been of a morbid disposition and recently had seemed more than usually so. He had also been in a very excitable and nervous condition about February 25, when he had been last seen alive.
On February 21 Hunt had complained to local residents of someone prowling round the house at night,
