ATHENS, Feb.. 9.

Some 700 co-operative societies to further currant-raising in Greece have been established in the Peloponnesus and the lonian Islands, according to the report made by the organisation during the recent International Exhibition at Salonika The large raisin pavilion at the exhibition, covering 200 square meters, was in chaTgo of the Central Currant Office, which was established in 1925 to take over the management of the currant industry, and to encourage the cultivation of, and markets for, currants. The capital disposed of by the Currant Office amounts to 400,000,000 drachmas, gained from the profiles effected in the last three years. The organisation exports 60,000 tons of currants to England annually, 15,000 to Holland, and 10,000 to Germany, at an average price of £SO per ton. No less than £70,000 has been .spent to advertise Greek raisins in England. Tho products of the textile industry, such as rugs, carpets, and embroidery, specially those worked by hand, were well exhibited at the fair, as well as articles of food such as pastes, flour, Turkish Delight, conserves, olives, olive oil and aniseed. Tho foreign section represented 549 exhibitors including 39 from Hungary, 43 from Serbia, 28 from the United States of America, 74 from Germany, 17 from Great Britain and 30 from Prance. It is proposed to hold the Heart; exhibition from September 13-29.
