Theatre Seats—a Suggestion
To the Editor. Sir, —In some American theatres which it has been a privilege to visit, the allocation of seats is simplicity itself. Tickets for each section of the house, pit, stalls and cirlcle, are grouped and sold in rows, six or less. Neither tho buyer nor the seller can say which row of seats is being dealt with. All patrons, late and early, have the same chance. The prices are fixed within reasonable limits; there is no such subterfuge for exploiting the public as "plus tax” or "reserves extra.” All are interested in the element of chance, which, unlike the tote, is free of cost, programmes also being a necessary adjunct, are free. I am, etc., "PULL'UP.”
