SCHOLARSHIPS FOR RESEARCH AWARDED
ONE TO EACH COLLEGE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. In tho regulations for the award of national scholarships for research, four scholarships are available each year. The Minister in chargo of the Education department announced this morning that tho list of applicants for tMs had been considered and on tho recommendation of tho Research council, the following awards had been made, tho research to be undertaken being stated in each case:— Mr. H. A. A. Aitken (Otago University) sulphur content and sulphur compounds of Now Zealand pasture grasses. Mr Lindsay H. Briggs (Auckland University college) constitution of septospermol and aromadendine and tho latter compound also probably being a constituent of manuka oil. Air. T. H. McCombs (Canterbury college) an investigation into the essential oils of pinus insignis and other pines. Mr. F. W. G. White (Victoria Cob lege) preliminary measurement of the dispersion of ultrasonic waves in the aax. /
