COMING OF AGE PARTY

On Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Guy, of Stanway, gave-a most enjoyable party in the hall to celebrate the coming of ago of their daughter, Myrtle. Dancing, games and the most amusing and original of competitions kept the young people entertained till well past the hour of midnight, prize winners in the competitions being the Misses Gladys Guy (Bulls), O. Deeke (Marton) and Messrs W. Guy (Bulls), N. Decke (Foilding), A. Marshall and N. Jefferies, the latter being the successful competitor in two competitions. A Most Bumptious supper was served, in the supper room, the tables of which were prettily arranged with bowls of coreopsis and asparagus fern. .The centre of attraction was a large birthdav cako made by Mrs. H. Guy and beautifully iced and decorated by Mrs. Freidrieh, of Onepuhi. At the conclusion of supper the health of Miss Guy was proposed by her uncle, Mr. R. L. Gill, of Marton, and drunk with musical honours, Mr. John Humphrey responding on Miss Guy’s behalf. During the evening Miss Guy was the recipient of many charming gifts, and numerous good wishes, a truly delightful time being brought to a fitting conclusion by the singing of “Auld Lang Svne.” Mrs. Guy received her guests becomingly gowned in beige ray de chene finished with vest of ecro lace, while Miss Myrtle Guy wore an effective frock of aqua marine georgette trimmed violet in darker toning. Among those present were the-Mes-dames R. L. Gill of Marton (aunt of Miss Guy) wearing ivory marocam trimmed delphinium blue; J. Decke of Marton (aunt), L. J. Cole, Goebol (Hunterville), M. Cockburn, A. M. Hbwell, Freidrieh (Onepuhi), and the Misses L. Guy (Feilding) wearing black velvet with waist'and shoulder trimming of shaded leaves, N. Guy (Feilding) apricot georgette, the sealloped skirt finished with vandyked rows of rucking; N. Green, K. Green, P. and G. Guy (Bulls), K. Miles, M. Jefferies, L. Marshall, M. and I. Wilson (Hunterville). G. and P. Green, M. Howell, R. and M. Groves, I. Goebel (Hunterville), 0. Decke (Marton), E.| Ivilford (Feilding) and the Misses R. LGill, Goebel, L. J. Cole, Freidricb, R.
