NEW TYPE BUSES FOR RAIL FEEDERS

HUTT ROAD TRAFFIC. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Railways Department is replacing ten of the present buses on the Hutt road with a new type. The department states that passengers carried by its 41 buses during the past two months were 199,934 and 217,453 respectively and it is expected that for the financial year, the total will be 2,000,000 passengers. The co-operation of rail and motor services in the Hutt Valley has effected a saving of £SOOO per annum on the train operation figures.
