PONGAROA SALE
The W.F.C.A. reports on the Pongaroa tale held yesterday as follows: — A good yarding of sheep came forSvard, our entry comprising 3000. Buyers were present in good numbers, outside districts being well represented. Bidding was good throughout the sale, the whole of our entry being sold under the hammer with the exception of two pens. Mr. E. H. Burling topped the market with 54 4-tooth Romney ewes, which 'realised 35s 6d. Mr. 0. P. Olsen’s 2-tooth ewes brought 335, Mr. C. Burling’s 4 and 6-tooth ewes 31s lid; Mr. W. McLeod’s 3-year ewes 28s 8d; Mr. ©. F. Olsen’s 2-tooth wcther3 26s 6d; Mr. A. McDonald’s shorn wether ’Jambs, 20s lOd. , We quote 2-tooth -wethers 24s 6d, 25s 9d, 26s 6d; 2-tooth ewes, 26s 6d to 335; 4 and 5-year ewes, 20s 3d, 20s 6d, 24s Id, 25s 8d to 26s 6d; 5-year ewes, |3ss 6d, 15s 8d to 25s 9d; b.f. lambs, 33s to 18s; w.f. m.s. lambs, 10s Bd, 14s, 34s 7d, 16s Id to 17s 4d; culls, 8s 6d; Bomney rams, £2 to £2 10s; 18 months 'steers, £7 10s.
