Notes of the Day

The usual card tournament held on Saturday evening at Rangiwahia, was quite a success, many players being present. Supper was provided by the ladies. Prizewinners were as follow: Crib: Men’s, Mr. F. Saywoll; consolation Mr C. Delhi; ladies’: Mrs. C. Deihl; consolation, Mrs. L. Rogers. Euchre: Meu’s, Mr P. Martin; consolation Mr W. Ho-pc; ladies’: Mrs. G. Kreg&r; consolation, Miss E. Deihl. With tho putting competition being conducted in the Square to raise funds for a piano for the Taonui school, two special consolation prizes have been given, one for the player who, not winning ono of the other prizes, hands in the lowest score to day and to-morrow. The other one is for the player who has most “ones” on all cards during tho tournament.
