(By “A.W.”) The results of the tenth round of the championship tourney of the Palmerston North Chess club at the close of play on Tuesday were:—Messenger 1 v. Whitakero 0; .Thirtle 1 v. Fleck 0; Espiner It. L Thorburn 0. Several games in arrears from previous rounds have been played off during the past few weeks:—Wright 0 v. Richards 1; Stewart % v. H. R. Thorburn J; L. Thorburn 1 v. H. R. Thorburn 0; Thirtle 1 v. L. Thorburn 0. The eleventh (and last) round will bo played on March 5 and 12 and the issue is still in doubt as several games are in arrear. By resolution of the committee, the 19th and 26th of March are allotted to unplayed and adjourned games, after which dates they will bo awarded by default.
