FINANCIAL SIDE OF METHODIST CHURCH

£16,000 INCREASE IN RECEIPTS.’ Per Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 23. The report on church property presented to the Now Zealand Methodist conference on Saturday stated that the total receipts were £16,326 more than for the previous year, the amount of £15,867 was expended in purchase of land, new buildings and additions to existing structures and showed an increase of £11,551 over last year. The total mortgage debts had increased by £19,111. The report by the chairman of the Young Peoples’ board commented on the large attendances at all conferences as an expression of vitality. If the church was to keep in touch with her own youth work, the time had come to give it more time at Synods and conferences. The question was less will the youth live away from the church, than will the church live away from the youth? The report on fire insurances showed the assets had increased from £6398 in 1911 to £22,711 in 1928.
