Novar was slow to move. Deluge was veil back passing the stands, when the order was Red Bank, Locarno, Wilderness, Asleep. Panorama, First Prince. Deluge and Novar last. Into

the back. Novar was lying fourth to Red Bank, Panorama and Wilderness. Locarno moved up in second and was a shade behind Red Bank on the turn, with two lengths to Panorama and Xov.nr. Ali Baba Works Oracle. Kinross, Snowshoe and Marica carried most money in the Maiden. The winner, Ali Baba, had little more than a pony on its chances in a pool of over £ISOO. A hit Mai was slow to move from a good dispatch. When the field got sorted out, Snowshoe was showing the way to Tapestry, Kinross, Marica and the winner. This order held almost to the straight, Malahat being in attendance. Kinross was the first to straighten out for home. Ali Baba started liis run, with Marica on the outer in hot pursuit. The latter failed at the post by a nose. Tapestry was two lengths further back, with a bunch comprising Snowshoe, Malahat, Kiriana and ■Kinross on her heels.

Awapuni Scores Again. Blimp (£551) was a clean-cut favourite in tho big cup event. Solid support was fourthcoming for Lady Limond (£398), Anolo (£310) and Briar Root (£289). The smartest movers at the barrier rise were Blimp, Kilmezzo and Imperial Spark. Tho field passed the stands with Kilmezzo in the van from Lady Limond, Blimp, Imperial Spark, Comical, Anolo and Briar Root, with Courageous well in the roar. On the back bend, Kilmezzo put five lengths between himself and a bunch consisting of Blimp, Lady Limond, Imperial Spark and Anolo. The pacemaker had seven lengths clear along the back from Blimp, Anolo, Comical and Lady Limond with Briar Root starting to move. On the homo turn, Blimp Anolo and Briar Root now in the picture, started to bridge the gap to Kilmezzo. Blimp was on terms with the Woodvillo horso entering the straight, with Anolo and Briar Root wasting' no time on the outer. _ Blimp was not to be denied once in sight of home and went on to win by two lengths. Imperial Spark which improved on tho home bond came to light 100 yards from the post to oust Briar Root from second money by two lengths. After Kilmezzo came Anolo and Comical.

Eemera’s Hack Six. Bernera, with £326, was made favourite in the County handicap and did not fail his supporters. Patearoa and Delude were the public’s next choices. The winner, which delayed tho start, was led up to the tapes and the field got away well. Money Mine, V,raterspear, Boundary, Bernera, Monetize and Second Thought broke the line of despatch. On the bend, Waterspear led Money Mint, Boundary, Bernera and Second Thought, with Delude at the head of the bunch following. Waterspcar was in the van into the straight, with Money Mint, Second Thought, Delude and Bernera _ all handy. High Disdain carried 334 tickets while Royal Duke, the winner, claimed £291. Miss Pat began best from Lady Ideal, Commendation and High Disdain who soon took charge from Miss Pat, Merry Mint and Commendation. At the top) bend,

| the order stood, except that Merry Mint had drifted for Royal Duke to take his place, while Arrow Lad was hsud by Commendation. Swinging into the straight High Disdain held his position from Commendation, Miss Pa. and Royal Duke, the last named moving up fast. Royal Duke kept on to win by half a length from Arrow Lad. which came through -at the distance 1o beat Commendation by half a length. Miss Pat was fourth with High Disdain ami Tanagra next.

Hunting Boy was the first to show out from the harrier and was never headed. Symballo, Royal Parade, Coon Song, Crash and .Hot. Springs was the order behind the leader from the stait. The positions around the bend held, with My Own moving up. Royal Parade, was second entering the straight, with Coon Song, who had made up some leeway, third. A neck separated Royal Parade and Coon Song when Hunting Boy passed the post half a length ahead of them. Crash was handy fourth, heading a bunch comprising Symballo, Hunting Song and Royal Parade.

Dividend Prom Disrank. The tw'o top weights in the Victoria handicap carried over 800 tickets in a pool of £2217. Mr. Gaisford’s candidate was not in much demand and made amends for the money sunk on Commendation earlier in the day. Break o' Dav headed High Court, Red Fuchsia, Royal Lineage, Billion and Balloon past the stands, where the latter trod on more than the grass and dropped hack. Royal Lirteage wan in the van going into the hack, next in attendance being High Court, Red Fuchsia. Disrank, Break o’ Day, Full Mark, Billion and Aurora Borealis, Mister Gamp being second last. Queen’s Choice moved on the bend and was first into tho straight, only to be challenged by Gold Cure at the distance. Moutoa Treasury, however, came with a hurst to heat Gold Cure to tho judge by half a length, with Queen’s Choice half a length further back third. After tho placed horses wero Nucleus, Vigilance, Callam* more and Borsalene.
