Tho latest report received by Mr. Brophy, second in command of the Byrd expedition, is that Eleanor Bolling is approaching tho New Zealand coast at top speed. “I have been in constant touch with the vessel,” said Mr.. Brophy, ‘‘and have issued instructions that every ounce of speed that can bo got out of the ship must be Obtained, so thnt she shall reach Dunedin on E.cbruary 14, instead of on the following day. Eleanor Bolling must be away again 36 hours after her arrival. During that time, the vessel will load 500 tons of gear, including an aeroplane, motor car, 5000 gallons of benzine and 4000 gallons of other oils. . Every minute counts now,” he said in conclusion. Mr. Brophy will leave Auckland to-night or * to-morrow morning for Wellington and Dunedin.
