Tho • Times’ Riga correspondent states that owing to an acute paper crisis, tho government has ordered departments in every provincial centre to scrap the utmost quantity of official archicves to prevent the paper mills closing down. Despite unlimitable supplies of raw material, the authorities admit the necessity of rationing. Newspapers havo been compelled to reduce the size, including the government’s official organ Pravda.
