BRILLIANT PROSPECTS

A note, in an American paper, about a young swimmer from Dunedin who went from New Zealand to the United States, with his father, two or three years ago:—"Buster” Olds, 13-year-old son of Bert Olds, coach' at the San Diego A.C., last week accomplished a feat claimed never to have been equalled by a boy of his age. Competing in a.7sft pool, he thrashed 220 yards in 2m 30s, truly a startling performance for a lad just breaking into hi? teens. “Buster" also is credited with doing the furlong in 2m 27 l-5s at practice, but even the slower of the foregoing marks rates him as one of the world’s most brilliant prospects.
