The announcement of the engagement of Eric, son of Mr. Reginald Purbrick, to Marjorie, daughter of Dr. Tate Sutherland, both of Melbourne, recalls a thrilling experience whilo skiing at Pontresina, Switzerland, when Mr. Purbriclc disappeared in a fifty feet crevasse. He was wedged in by his shoulders while his fiancee and also a friend, Miss Desiree Brooke, brought a mountaneer, who rescued him by means of a rope.
