A HOLIDAY HINT

This method will ensure fowls having drinking water while you are holidaying: In the bottom of a kerosene tin make four holes with a fairly large nail and thread through four separate pieces of soft string thick enough to till tlic holes. Hang tho' tin in the shade low enough to allow the string to reach six inches from the drinking trough ,and fill the tin with water. The water will soak slowly through the string which will convey it in slow drips to the drinking trough. A trial a day or two before you go on your holiday will enable you to judge whether the water is dripping througn too fast or too slowly. If the trough beneath the tin is filled immediately you leave home, so much the better. A wooden lid on the tin will prevent .evaporation.
