FIRES IN FOXTON

(Times Special.) 1 FOXTON, Last Night. A four-roomed house owned by Mr. G. A. Hobbs situated in No. 1 line was totally destroyed by fire in, the early hours of this morning.- The house was unoccupied at the time and the cause of the fire is unknown. The insurances are not available.

At 7.45 last night the fire siren summoned the brigade to an incipient fire at the residence of Mr Alex Ross, Purcell street, just outside the Borough boundary. Owing to the alarm being given promptly ' by neighbours who noticed smoke issuing from the _ roof tho fire was put out by the brigade with their chemical extinguishers. The fire started in the roof near the manhole and was apparent! ycaused by the electric wiring fusing. The houso was insured, but the amount of the policy has not yet been ascertained.
