Latest reports from Hankow state that the Japanese concession is completely cut oil from the Chinese section by barbed wire, entrance being only possible through heavily-guarded gates. There is a general exodus of Chinese from tho concession, and would-bc entrants are warned off by pickets, who, however, are not interfering with tho Japanese themselves. Japanese gunboats have taken up stations to protect Japaneso concerns, while the situation is tense. It is expected that tho precautions are sufficient to provent a serious outbreak;" Sinister Situation NANKING DETERMINED TO RULE MANCHURIA. Received Tuesday, 2 a.m. TOKFO, Jan. 14. A sinister situation is developing in Manchuria which Japan is unable to ignore. Officials admit anxiety as the outcome of a report from China which indicates the disposition of the Nanking government to go to extremes in demanding the surrender of Japan’s interests including the South Manchurian railway, especially following tho hoisting of Nationalist flags at Mukden and the execution of Yang Yuting, the Manchurian statesman, who was friendly to Japan.
