Rongotea.

From Our Own Correspondent. Mrs. W. J. Amies and her three children left by car on Tuesday for Gisborne, where they are to spend a few weeks with Mr and Mrs. H. Allen. Mrs. Trcmain and her two children, of Wellington, are spending a few days with Mr and Mrs. E. J. Bose. Miss Lorna Ockendcn, of Christchurch, returned home yesterday after spending her Christmas holidays with Mr and Mrs. E. J. Bose.

Miss Jill Bower is staying at 12 Gladstone Road, Napier, with her aunt, Miss E. L. Bower.

Mr C. McCall motored from Otaki on Saturday and spent the week-end at his homo in Bongotea. » Mrs. and Miss Trenkner are staying in Wellington. Mr and Mrs. M. H. White and Miss N. White, returned from an extended tour of Botorua, Taupo, and Napier on Wednesday last. Miss E. White is staying in Hastings. Mr F. H. Landers, who has been storekeeping in Bongotea for the last five and a-half years, has sold his business to Messrs. C. V. Ciochetto and Co. Tho farmers have been busy trying to get their hay in for tho last few weeks, but have been set back very much by tho unsettled weather. Shearing in the district has also beep very slow owing to the weather.
