Small entries were again the rule at Addington to-day in all major sections of. stock. The result was a general advance in both beef and mutton values. Store sheep sold particularly well biff fat lambs were not m such keen demand, except for the prime sorts. Store sheep had a small entry fo this tinie of the year. The first store lambs of the season were forward and beat rape sorts made to 275, others -os and over. Dry sheep sold firmly at last week’s rates to better. Values were: Best three-quarterbred ewe lambs to 26s 6d; best three-quarterbred wetfler lambs to 25s 3d; best rape lambs, -5s to 275; ordinary rape lambs to -3s, cull lambs 20s to 21s 6d; good haltbred wethers, 26s to 275; ordinary nailbred wethers to 255; ordinary crossbred wethers to 25s 6d; ordinary six and eight-tooth halfbred ewes to 26s 4d; halfbred ewes and lambs to 20s; best crossbred ewes and lambs to 255; ordinary two-tooth crossbred ewes to 275. Fat lambs enjoyed an entry of 1400 head, which is under the average number for this time of the year. Mixed duality good lambs sold well, unfinished sorts being cheaper. Extra prime lambs sold up to 36s lOd; prime, 31s to 33s 6d; ordinary, 28s to 30s 6d; light, 2Gs to 27s 9d. There was a small entry of fat slicep between seven and eight races. Ihe offering met with a keen sale, good sheep being up by a shilling a head. Butchers bought practically the whole of the yarding, wethers making from 7d to 7Sd per lb. Extra prime heavy . wethers fetched to 42s 3d; prime, 34s 6d to 38s; medium, 31s 6d to 345; light, 27s 6d to 31s; extra prime ewes, to 36s 7d; prime, 31s to 33s 6d; medium 27s 6d to 30s 6d; light 23s to 275; aged ewes, 19s to 235. Another small entry was the 0 02 head of fat cattle. The hulk were cow r s. A keen sale eventuated, all good classes showing a further advance of 25s to 30s a head and other classes, 20s. Best beef made in a few cases to 54s per lOOlbs, good prime, 40s to 545; hcavv steers, 42s 6d to 455; mediunn quality, 44s to 475; good cow, 43s to 41s; and rough, down to 32s 6d. Extra prime heavy steers made to £25 lcs 6d; prime heavy, £2l 10s to £23 10s; medium quality steers; £ls 10s to £lB 10s; light steers, £l2 10s to £l4 10s; extra prime heifers to £l7 2s 6d; prime £l4 to £l6; ordinary, £l2 to £l3 15s; light, £8 to £ll 10s; extra prime cows, to £lB 12s 6d; prime, £l3 to £ls 10s; ordinary, £ll to £l2 15s; light and aged, £7 15s to £lO 15s. Vealers had a small entry and had a good sale. Twelve to 18-months sorts brought to £8; vealers, £3 5s to £7 2s Gd; calves, 15s to £2 7s 6d. Store cattle had a small and mixed entry and a good sale. Two to o-ycar steers made £lO Is; 18-months heifers £5 16s; good cows, £5 to £8 10s; others, 30s to £4 15s; bulls £3 to £9. There was a keen demand for dairy cattle. Best second to fourth calvers, £ll 4s to £l6 10s; medium, £8 Ids to £lO 10s; others, £6 to £8; extra good heifers to £ls 10s; good, £9 to £l2 10s; small and backward, £7 to £8 10s; late calvers, £8 to £l2. Fat pigs, met with a fair demand, the values for porkers being better. Choppers made £1 to £4 18s 6d; baconers, £2 19s 6d to £4 3s 6d (averago price per lb. 54d to 6Jd); light porkers, 32s to 40s; heavy, 44s to 53s 6d (averago price per lb 6J-d to 7d). Of store pigs there was a good-sized yarding of all classes and a marked improvement in prices. Weaners fetched 4s to 13s; slips, 14s to 16s; stores, 14s to 235; largo and extra large, 24s to 3Gs.
