WILL VOTE FOR LEAST IDIOTIC

GIRL AND THE FRANCHISE. HOW SHE REGARDED HER DUTY TO STATE. Australian Press Association. LONDON, Jan. S. ' One modern girl’s viewpoint of the enfranchisement law led her to a Glasgow court, where she was charged with not filling in a registration form. Peggy Bowman, tho girl in question, stated: "If I fill in the form I will hove to vote for some idiot who wants to loaf." The Magistrate advised her to register in order to vote for the least idiotic candidate, and she reluctantly agreed.

ELECTION WITHIN THREE WEEKS OF .DISSOLUTION. POSSIBLY MIDDLE OF JUNE. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, Jan. 8. The date of the general election which must take place this year as Parliament has entered the fifth and last year of its allotted span, is now the subject of general interest. The new register with its addition of some 5,000,000 women to the electorate, comes into force on May 1, and it is anticipated that Parliament will be dissolved as soon after that date as possible. The Budget has to bo passed, and, if the exigencies of the other Parliamentary business permit, it is hoped in Government circles that dissolution may take place in the latter part of May. Friday, May 24, is actually spokon of as a suitable date. If this date were chosen, the general election could take place on Juno 13.
