TWO ACCIDENTS TO TOURING OAR
GOES OVER BANK WHILE BEING TOWED. Per Press Association. DARGAVILLE, Last Night. Last evening, a five seater car, the occupants of which were J. C. Ward, of Waimana, Bay of Plenty, R. D. Ward and his wife and mother developed engine trouble on the Waipoua forest road. Help was sent from Donnelly’s crossing. Tho lady* 1 members of the party were transferred to tho rescuing car, the male members remaining in the disabled car, with E. D. Ward at tho wheel.
Things went well till Katui was reached, when tho tow ropo became entangled in a wheel and tho car went over a steep bank, pinning J. C. Ward underneath. . He was extricated and a doctor sent out from Dargaville to attend to his injuries. The injured man was brought to Dargaville to-day by train and sent to hospital for X-ray treatment. The extent of his injuries is not known yet. R. D. Ward, the other occupant was not injured.
