POSTMAN WAS TOO TIRED
A young auxiliary postman who was too wot and tired to complete bis dolivery, and throw a batch of letters into a rubbish dump, was sent to prison for eight days with hard labour at Jersey Police Court. Mr Alexander Macnab Kay, of the Investigation Department of tho General Post Office, was sent from London to inquire into the mystery of the missing letters, and his investigations resulted in John brands Le Mauviot, the postman, being arrested. When charged Mxuviot admitted that ho had dumped the letters uml packets, and said: “They were wet and I was wot an dtired, so I threw them away.”
