“STRANGLER” LEWIS TURNS YELLOW. DISQUALIFIED FOR REFUSING TO RETURN TO THE RING. United Service. Received Sunday 7.0 p.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 4. At Boston, Gus Sonnenberg, the Dartmouth University football star, won the heavyweight wrestling championship of the world on Friday night, when “Strangler” Lewis was disqualified after refusing to return to the ring after being butted out seven times. Sonnenberg book the first fall with his famous flying tackle.
