DISTRICT NURSE ASSN.
NEW CAR NEEDED. The Fcilding 1 District Nurse committee met this week, Mr. V. E. Smith occupying the chair. The. committee was advised of the need for a new car, as the old one, after having been in use for five years, was costing too much for upkeep. Accounts totalling £9 Is 7d were passed for payment. The nurse, Sister Smith, reported 345 visits during the month. Six patients were discharged asd two sent to hospital. Letters of appreciation were sent to tho Kow-hai Rebekah Lodge, grocers, banks and law, Oroua ladies’ committee and other donors for gifts to the Association.
Mrs. Barltrop was elected visitng lady for the month, and Mrs. Sporle was thanked for her report for last month.
It was reported that work was well in hand for the street stall.
Donations were acknowledged as follows:—Mesdamcs Luff £1 3s, Turner ss, Eunicauo £1 Is. Oroua ladies’ committee £2 15s, grocers banks and law football match £2, 18s, Kowhai Rebekah Lodge £8 12s, Messrs Poole £1 Is, Mcßride £2; clothing from Mesdames Murdoch, Hockeu, ChesterlLeld, cakes from St. Paul’s Church, SI. John’s Missionary Guild, books and stretcher from Mrs. Crook, hardware from Messrs Bramwcll Bros. Ltd.
