PURCHASES FOB ARGENTINE, PATAGONIA AND TASMANIA. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd, Pedigree Stock Salesmen, report having conducted their Annual Show Sale of stud stock. A,number of important sales for export were made at auction or by private treaty to Argentine, ‘Patagonian and Tasmanian clients. Negotiations are also being continued for further purchases on behalf of New South Wales and South American visiting breeders at the Show. There is a keen demand for prize-winners. May, Hawke’s Bay, the second prize two-yoar-ol'd Aberdeen Angus bull, Bex of Matapihi, by the well-known sire, Nell of Ben Lomond ,to a Tasmanian client. Eex of Matapihi has already taken Reserve Champion honours at , Hawke s Bay and Danncvirke Shows. He realised 150 guineas at auction. On behalf of Air. W. A.TdcFarlane, Hawke’s Bay, the second prize yearling Aberdeen Angus bull, Marquis of Waiterenui, to a client at 100 guineas at auction. Marquis of Waiterenui is sired by Bland of Elcaton. imp., and his dam, Dorothy of Waiterernui, is the grandam also of the outstanding winning yearling bull at Hawke s Bay and &o Royal in the same owner s Mistral of Waiterenui. Op behalf of Air. D. P. McLeod, Opatu, King Country, the second prize yearling Red Poll heifer, Opatu No 17, to Feilding Agricultural College. This heifer, sired by Kowhai 45, and regis - ered in the A. A. class, was keenly competed for, and realised 95 guineas at auction. The yearling bull, Opatu No. IG, A. A., on behalf of the same vendor and sired, also by Kowhai 40, was sold at private treaty to Mr. B.
