ZEPPELIN’S CREW NATIONAL HEROES

BERLIN, Nov, 5. After a night flight, the Graf Zeppelin landed at Staaken Aerodrome where many war-time Zeppelins were built. 1
Impatient crowds burst through the fencing and swarmed on to the ground The polico had to uso knuckle-dusters to restore order. Hundreds of thdftsands rapturously greeted the crew, who drove in triumph to President Von Hin denburg’s palace. Speaking on behalf of the entire nation, the President stated that the crew accomplished what was in the best sense a national deed.
In replying, Capt. Eckner, the com mander of the Graf Zeppelin, pointed out the grave dangers of the return journey, which showed that there was still much to be desired, but now that the defects were known, they would be remedied.
