Parliament Opens To-day
MEMBERS DEAD-HEAT FOR FIRST ARRIVAL
FIERCE ELECTION WITH VER2 DOUBTFUL OUTCOME.
United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Copyright. Received Tuesday, Midnight. LONDON, Nov, 6.
Sir Park Goff and Sir Robert Thomas waited for two hours iu the cold fog outside the gutes of Westminster unti. Big Ben struck midnight, for the King is to open Parliament to-day and the two members of the Commons, eager ta be the first arrival, dead-heated. The King’s speech is expected to mention the Anglo-French agreement, r& parations, unemployment, with special reference to Empire migration, and new local government bills. With much remaining to be accom plished before the election in the Government is not allotting any time to private members. The Christmas adjournment will be very brief, as the docks must be practically cleared before the Budget comes down. There is an indication of a heavy and lively session, leading up to a fierce election, the result of which, with 5,000,000 new women voters, none ventures to foretell.
