Foxton

From Our Own Correspondent. Bowling Club.

The .bowling tournament for the Triangular Shield, to have been held locally to-day, has been postponed and will now be held on November 28. A meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held in the secretary’s office, Foxton, on Monday evening, when it was decided to repair the damaged flood-bank at Poplar. Mr. Chrystall was accorded a vote of thanks for his efforts in saving a bank during tho flood.

Mr. Eonayne, Public Works engineer, carried out an inspection of the flood damage in the Moutoa yesterday, and was accompanied by members of the Moutoa Drainage Board.' Personal. Mr. W. E. Barber is at present in Wanganui, where he is acting as judge in one of the stock sections at the Show.

Mr. Hurrell, of Eltham, is a visitor to Foxton.
