LONGBURN SCHOOL
MONTHLY MEETING. The headmaster of the' Longburn School (Mr C. C. Hills) reported to the monthly meeting of the committee that the roll number was 150. Th* school had been ivsited by Dr. Gunn and Mr Adams, schools’ inspector. On the suggoction of the headmaster, it was decided to employ a man to prune the elm trees and clean up the school drive. The school collected 20 dozen eggs for the Willard Home. The usual effort on behalf of Dr.' Barnardo’s Homes would be held on October 26th. The school ball proved a success, both socially and financially, resulting in # nett profit of £ls 10/3. It was resolved to grant the children two days’ holiday for the Royal Show. Labour Day, Monday, October 22nd., will also lie observed as a holiday.
Accounts amountin gto £4 1/- were passed - for payment. ■ Mr P. A. Meehan presided; also present were Messrs J. Mahoney, A. Oliver, E. Broekliss, J. Sterling and A, Mellon An apology for absence was received from the chairman, Mi W. Weddell. '
