In Fast and Even Game By Three Goals to One At tho Sportsground yesterday afternoon tho Manawatu lady hockey representatives met the New Zealand chain-' pions, Euahine (Dannevirke)'' in a friendly contest, Manawatu proving victorious by three goals to one, after a fast and even game in which some splendid hockey was witnessed. Tho teams were as follows: Manawatu (green and white): Misses G. Eanson,, Wercta, Hawca, M. Isaacs, E. Uptime, Godfrey, Eoyal, W. Eanson (capt.), M. Scott, J. Simpson, M. Newth. Euahine (red and grey): Misses F. Rendlc, D. McKinnon, D. Foreman, E. Loader, W. Dennis, L. Bell, I. McKinnon, E. Anderson, E. Efabazon (capt.), M. Simmonds, K Scot):. The Game. An attack by Manawatu found Euahine, prepared, and the ball was sent up field. Play was evenly distributed,'Euahine -getting slightly the better of it. Miss Scott (Manawatu) made a good stop and passed to Miss Duthie, but the ball was forced over the side line. Play was hard andeven.
