Guilty of Attempting To Administer Poison VERDICT IN',CASE ' ’ AGAINST MRS KOERBIN Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The case against Mrs. Koorhia concluded to-day, the jury return- • lug a verdict of not guilty of attempted murder hut guilty of at- . tempting to administer poison with attempt to injure or annoy. The Jury also brought in a strong recommendation to mercy. - Presenting tho case for the' defence Mr. Sievwright aaid that accused de-‘,. nied any attempt to injure her' husband, Eoorbih. The, parties wero-hot on good toms and Mrs. Koerbin’s’evidence would indicate that she wanted to do -something that would stop her husband V conduct. The poison was obtained for showing . her hdsband she could' retaliate. Her action was only a gesture. Tho tin was left in the scullery so that her husband- could seep it. She thought it w,aßi:h r harmless powder but wanted her husband to think, it.was dangerous. She. placed tho stuff in, a box whore she • knew heir husband -would find it. and; say,‘‘look here, what’s the meaning of this. Koorbin’s vomiting was duo to, his ' over-indulgence in liquor taken at parties;'' The" other sickness was due ; to a cold. "■ ~ - - ' When' accused was giving . evidence .
