The Prime Minister has issued the following communique: “The King has been pleased to approve of tho Most Reverend and Eight Honourable Cosmo Gordon Lang, Lord Archbishop of York, Primate of England and Metropolitan, to the Archbishopric of Canterbury, to become vacant on „12th November by the resignation of the Most Reverend and' Right Honourable Randall Thomas Davidson, Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, Primato of all England and Metropolitan.’*' .
