, MEN DRAW—LADIES WIN. Per Press Association, DANNEVIRKE, Last Night. Tbo Dannevirko men’s hockey representatives by drawing to-day with Taranaki in a match for the Nordcu Cup, maintained their unbeaten record in tho fourth challenge match this season, having also defeated Wairoa and Wairarapa, challengers for tho cup, and drawn 1 with Wanganui for tho Winter Shield, also held by Dannevirke., To-day’s contest was on a good ground and was fast and exciting, each side scoring a goal. The holders’ score came toward tho end of tho first spell, when, as a result of clever piily following a corner hit, M'lntosh glanced tho ball into the net. Dannevirke had the better of play in tho second half, but through a vigorous breakaway, Irwin netted for the challengers after a struggle in the cirMessrs. Schmidt (Dannevirke) and Grlccson (Taranaki) were referees. -The Dannevirke-Buahinc ladies’ representatives played their first representative hockey match to-day, defending the Nopera C)up against East Coast, the holder retaining the trophy by seven goals to nil. , .....
