ANOTHER SMALL SHOP BROKEN AND ENTERED
BURGLARY IN CUBA STREET. Burglars continue to find Palmerston North in the nature of a happy hunting ground. The mounting tally, of small burglaries'which have taken place of late, was added to over the week-end, when a mixed goods shop in Cuba Street owned by Mrs Montgomery was broken and entered, sweets to the value of £5 being stolon. The intruders gained entrance to the premises by means of a window at the rear of the shop which gave on to a part of the building used by the Tiritca Dairy Co. The burglars adopted forcible methods to gain entrance to Mrs Montgomery’s shop, a dividing partition being smashed and the lock wrenched oil the door. From the confusion in which the stock was found in the morning, it was apparent 'that a thorough but unsuccessful search had been made for money. The intruders arc evidently determined to turn their activities to account for it is stated that this last, is the fourth occasion on which the shop has been entered. . v i
