OROUA BOWLING CLUB
ANNUAL EBP - ET. The annual report of the Oroua Bowling Club records a successful and enjoyable season. A great -deal of work has been carried out- on the green since closing; it has greatly benefited by .the special treatment it has received and there is every prospect of its being in first-class order for tho coming season. Our membership has been well maintained, there being 70 financial playing members, three honorary and one life member. 1 During last season a motor mower was purchased, the cost being advanced, by members. This has proved a great benefit and labour saver. 1 We are pleased to record a very satisfactory result from the Bazaar which was held in conjunction with the ladies of tho Croquet Club, the not proceeds realising £279 Is. lid. .The success was largely due to ...the... whole-hearted and enthusiastic manner in which the I'adics and -members of the Club worked together, and the very liberal support accorded by friends and supporters. Tho hearty thanks of tho Club are due to Mr. Frank Mason for his very handsome gift of roses and other shrubs for planting in the grounds. Tho Club competitions resulted ns follows:—Championship singles (Haybittle Cup), Mr. 0. Aitken; colts’ singles (Mr. Oakley’s Gold Modal), Mr. W. Price; Handicap Pairs (Mr. Broad's Trophy), Messrs Goodbeherc and Haybittlc. Interchange of visits took place with Palmerstpn North, Terrace End, Woodvillc, Bulls, Marion, .
