When giving his evidence-before the Commission of Enquiry into tho rating of rural lands in boroughs at Feilding on Tuesday, Sir George Foiwlds was sub-, jeeted to a very lengthy cross-esamina-. tiou respecting his advocacy of rating on the 'unimproVed value, during tlio course'of which witness confessed that; that, basis was not altogether the remedy for the cvil r of injustice in local body .taxation. He admitted to tho, Commission that some system of'differentiation., would perhaps provide' a. remedy for the present difficulties.. ; .
